Easy to Install - Looks Great - Wonderful Price July 23, 2010

My delivery box was mangled upon receipt - but the contents were not damaged and no parts were missing.

Installation is very straight-forward and easy. Conveniently, I am the perfect height to "hold" the rod with my head while tightening the screws and bolts... anyone that is not this convenient height may want an extra person to help hold the bar level while performing the final tightening-down step... :)

The liner is a generic white liner with metal grommets. (As expected: nothing fancy or exciting. I may change it out later, but I am enjoying the clean, white, plain look right now!)
The bar is of decent weight and seems well made. (I am happily pleased, I was concerned it would be cheesy since it was inexpensive.)
The hooks are fantastic - I've always wanted the little roller hooks, but just never had gotten any. (Whoever mentioned that theirs were weak/thin may have gotten something different than mine - or had an elevated expectation for their liner hooks?)

My only disappointment is that the drywall anchors used to hold the mounting brackets to the wall, are too small or too weak or too something... No worries, as we have many to choose from in the garage - I am just kind of peeved that I have to now disassemble everything to swap out for better anchors. :'(

Overall, I am pleased. I like the components that make up this package. I would recommend this to my friends or family - with the caveat about the mounting anchors.

The curved bar is shipped with two pieces, which were already connected (one end slides into the other). They were stuck together and it was very difficult to get them apart. Other than that, I'm pleased with the product. The instructions are pretty straightforward, and I was able to install it by myself. It also is nice-looking; I like the deep, rich look of the rubbed bronze.

Functional but not the 'oil rubbed bronze' I was expecting June 15, 2010

Quality and functionality wise, this shower rod is as expected, however, the color is more like an antique bronze (more goldie-brown) than oil rubbed bronze (more black'ish) like the rest of my bathroom fixtures are.

I did not use / open the shower liner so I cannot comment on that but the shower rings/hooks are not high quality in my opinion - the metal is thin and they bend easily, however so far that has not been a functional issue on the rod.

UPDATE:
I called the vendor itself and they were more than happy to get me a new item. Much easier than dealing with Amazon's call center. Seems like a small company that cares about its reputation. I was very impressed with their customer service (Alex in particular was great).

ORIGINAL POST:
This product did not arrive with both rods (basically, a thinner rod slides into a wider rod to create one rod). I have never returned anything on Amazon, but I thought getting a fix would be easy. It was definitely not easy. Only option was to send the whole contraption back.

The thing is 5 feet long, and unlike Amazon, I don't keep 5ft long boxes around for shipping purposes.

Amazon agent "educated" me by saying that to get a replacement, I would have to wait 2-3 weeks - even though a new one is available ASAP on the site. Maybe I just got a terrible rep?

Anyway - sounds like the vendor doesn't have its act together and while I think the final product would have been great, I would not trust that you will get what you want without a huge hassle.
